Description: Sport and Human Performance is designed to prepare students to pursue careers in kinesiology and exercise physiology services. Upon completion, proficient students will be able to apply concepts of anatomy and physiology, physics, chemistry, bioenergetics, and kinesiology to specific exercise science contexts. Through these connections students will understand the importance that exercise, nutrition, and rehabilitation play in athletes or patients with debilitating or acute metabolic, orthopedic, neurological, psychological, and cardiovascular disorders. 

Activities in the program: Baseline Fitness Skills, BMI Calculations, Target Heart Rate, and Design Strength Training Programs

Potential Careers: Possible careers include personal trainers,  massage therapists, wellness coaches, strength and conditioning coaches, athletic trainers, exercise physiologists, and physical therapists.

CTE Specific Annual Activities and Clubs: HOSA, Assist with Student Sports Physicals , Job Shadow Athletic /Fitness Program 

Early Post-Secondary Opportunities: OSHA 10 (10th Grade), NETA Personal Trainer Certification (12th Grade)
